BMW Champion Jason Day moves to No. 1.

The 27-year-old Australian, who claimed his first Major title at the PGA Championship just a few weeks ago, was in a league of his own at Conway Farms Golf Club, to the north of Chicago – and this despite the world-class field at the third of the four Playoff tournaments being restricted to the top 70 players in the FedExCup. Day's victory, which earned him a cool $1.485 million, also saw him replace Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy (-14, T4) at the top of the world rankings.

Day continues to reign supreme.

After taking just 124 shots in total on the opening two days, Jason Day (AUS, -20) played a relatively unspectacular third round on Saturday. Despite this, the FedExCup leader still holds a comfortable advantage (six shots) at the top of the leaderboard.

At the halfway point of the 2015 BMW Championship, Jason Day (AUS, -18) has defended his lead from day one in emphatic manner. The leader in the FedExCup rankings goes into the weekend with a five-shot lead. However, the round of the day came from another of the tournament’s many big names: 2010 BMW Champion, Dustin Johnson (USA, -9).

He is the number one in the FedExCup rankings and, judging by his impressive start to the 2015 BMW Championship, Jason Day fully intends to hold on to this prestigious position. The Australian had played 17 holes before the opening round was suspended due to inclement weather. By the time he was forced to stop, Day had already reached 10 under par....
